About Me

My photo
Shy, quiet and mostly kept to herself, clysa Dragoone aka Cly is a sweetheart until she is crossed. Rezzed on August 1, 2010, she came into Second Life only to dance, have fun and make new friends. Working as Head Dancer and Host at the Velvet Manor Night Club, she never thought about modeling till now as her sweet little neko friend, Nickle Sparrowtree, got her active. Also, with the help of Anrol Anthony and Steve McCullough, she entered the UCWS to study modeling for the Class of March 2011. Cly now strives to make it through even through the hardest of challenges within the world of modeling. At present is running in three latest contests, "Ms Elegance", "Ms Sophistication" and "SL Too Sexy". Plus, she participated in three fashion videos to date. She also, looks up to those before her, and seeks advise from the top models, such as DebbieDoo Tigerfish and Laylah Lecker, whom she considered as her role-models and good friends. In the end, her passion will still be in dance, but is thrilled to be given this chance to open up and prove herself, making herself someone in the SL world with the help and thanks to all at CWS.

Second Day of Classes: AO, HUDS, POSES, FOUNDATION

Today’s class will cover:
➤How to use ao's and huddles, How to install your poses to your ao's
➤ Bring them to Styling Stage and practice their new poses on stage, make sure they all know how to put poses to their huddles or ao's
➤Teach them the styling formation on stage.

***********************
[10:01]  Laylah Lecker: ok first portion
[10:01]  Laylah Lecker: ➤How to use ao's and huddles, How to install your poses to your ao's
[10:01]  Laylah Lecker: As many of you know the default stand and walk in SL is horrible! What we use to give our avatar a more natural stand and walk is to wear an "Animation Overrider" or AO for short.
[10:01]  Laylah Lecker: Animation Overriders replace the standard SL animations. You can generally choose which animation you wish to override. You can override one animation, or all of them.
[10:02]  Laylah Lecker: You’ll need to purchase animations to model.
[10:02]  Laylah Lecker: Models pose J And pose is another term we use for animations. SL also makes no distinction between moving and static animation files
[10:02]  Laylah Lecker: So you can use a moving animation file as a stand. Or you can use a static pose as a stand.
[10:02]  Laylah Lecker: However, it’s important to realize that AO’s are generally best for your day to day animations such as walks, stands, sits, runs etc.
[10:03]  Laylah Lecker: Not many people would recommend an AO for runway modeling. I wouldn’t recommend you use an AO for modeling.
[10:03]  Laylah Lecker: I have found that AO’s don’t allow control…and we will want to strike a pose immediately and know which pose we are executing.
[10:03]  Laylah Lecker: There are tons of AOs in SL, and some are free and some are very expensive. Most AOs are based on Francis Chung's Franimation Overrider script (originally written back in 2004), so fortunately most AOs work in the same way.
[10:03]  Laylah Lecker: For most of AOs, you are able to edit a notecard that is in the contents area of your AO. Before you edit the notecard, pick the animations you want to use by dragging the pose from your inventory into the AO. Then you reset the AO. There it is you have new animations in your AO!
[10:04]  Laylah Lecker: When adding new animations to your AO’s notecard, you have to put the *EXACT* name of the animation in its appropriate place.
[10:04]  Laylah Lecker: Any notecard is case-sensitive, so the spelling and case has to be exactly the same as the animation file.
[10:04]  Laylah Lecker: Also, be sure that you don’t add any blank lines in the notecard.
[10:05]  Laylah Lecker: The easiest way I have found so far is to right click on the animation and go to its properties that way all you have to do is highlight the animation name and copy (control C or selct copy from the pull down menu that pops up) then paste it onto your notecard.
[10:05]  Laylah Lecker: that way I don't make any mistakes those notecards are picky!

**************************
[10:05]  Laylah Lecker: Now on to HUD’s
[10:05]  Laylah Lecker: HUD stands for “Heads up Display,” and typically consists of a control panel with different buttons you can click on to do specific stuff.
[10:06]  Laylah Lecker: The AO I am wearing now is the best one for me and its the vista perfect lady
[10:07]  Laylah Lecker: that is awesome that some of you have the vista ao because most of them have the walks we use on the runway
[10:08]  Laylah Lecker: save you money for the AO's you can get by with what you have now
[10:08]  Laylah Lecker: you will need to purchase a huddles for this class
[10:08]  Laylah Lecker: and if you are on a budget save it for the huddles and poses :)
[10:09]  Laylah Lecker: there is the option of basic huddles and deluxe huddles and you can get by with either one
[10:09]  Laylah Lecker: so back to HUDs
[10:10]  Laylah Lecker: HUDs are an evolution of user interaction in SL: before HUDs, Residents were limited to typing commands in chat or pop-up windows with choices to click on.
[10:10]  Laylah Lecker: These methods are still used — sometimes in tandem with HUDs — but HUDs are often more visually attractive because you are the only one who can see your HUD on your screen and often user-friendly, meaning you are better able to control what animation you want to use at that exact moment.
[10:11]  Laylah Lecker: so this is why HUDs are better for modeling
[10:12]  Laylah Lecker: because we control what animation we want to use at that exact moment.
[10:13]  Laylah Lecker: the finer details, such as creating notecards will depend on your specific HUD, but since it's nice to know the basics of how such things work:
[10:13]  Laylah Lecker: so after you get a HUD it appears in your inventory, perhaps in a folder, with instructions. It’s identical to your AO, you simply right-click the HUD and select Wear to automatically attach it to the point the HUD creator set when they made it. If there are buttons, they may be labeled, and you can often safely explore by clicking them to see what they do.
[10:14]  Laylah Lecker: I would recommend the huddles becasue we have to use them here
[10:14]  Laylah Lecker: however if you have more to spend
[10:14]  Laylah Lecker: I love the Balut hud
[10:15]  Laylah Lecker: and what is awesome about the balut
[10:16]  Laylah Lecker: you should be able to....the one we have to use allows us the option to invite others to our huddles
[10:16]  Laylah Lecker: so the cheaper one is 599 I think
[10:16]  Laylah Lecker: while the deluxe is like 1500 or something like that
[10:17]  Laylah Lecker: you can do it! and if any of you are truly struggling with money just let the trainers know and we can try and help you

*****************
[10:17]  Laylah Lecker: Now how we add animations to our AO’s is the same way we would add animations to our HUDS. You edit a notecard that you find in the contents area of your HUD. Additionally you can usually create a new notecard with your chosen animations and drop that into your HUD.
[10:18]  Laylah Lecker: Again when adding new animations to your HUD’s notecard, you have to put the *EXACT* name of the animation in its appropriate place, and make sure you don’t add any blank lines in the notecard.
[10:18]  Laylah Lecker: ok I'm going to pass you all a full perm pose I found so we can practice dropping them into your ao or hud
[10:21]  Laylah Lecker: now the steps :)
1. Detach AO or HUD
2. Drag it from your inventory on to the ground
3. Right click the AO or HUD and chose edit
4. Drop the animation I gave you into the AO or HUD by dragging the pose from your inventory into the HUD.
5. Go out of edit
6. Take HUD or AO back into your inventory
7. Wear it
[10:30]  Laylah Lecker: Here at CWS we use the huddles because it gives us the option to sync with our co-workers. I have the basic huddles and the deluxe huddles, and Veronica has kindly made notecards with our required poses already set up for you.
[10:30]  Laylah Lecker: However, this will only work for the deluxe version.
[10:30]  Laylah Lecker: The basic version does not have the options for notecards, so if you decide to get that huddles you will have to rename your poses so they go in order.
[10:31]  Laylah Lecker: I have both so I can show you how to rename your poses
[10:31]  Laylah Lecker: all you have to do is put either 1,2,3 in front of each pose depending on what order you want them to be in
[10:31]  Laylah Lecker: or A, B, C
[10:32]  Laylah Lecker: You will learn what the poses are in an upcoming class, so don’t worry about that at the moment. For now we need to make sure you understand the basics J
[10:32]  Laylah Lecker: I used the basic forever lol but upgraded to Deluxe so I could be familiar with it in case students wanted that one instead
[10:32]  Laylah Lecker: and huddles look confusing
[10:33]  Laylah Lecker: but just think of them like a remote control for your avi
[10:33]  Laylah Lecker: like a remote control for your tv
[10:33]  Laylah Lecker: we get to know them and how they operate
[10:33]  Laylah Lecker: just takes some time to play with them :)
[10:33]  Bella Qissentell: Layleah...can we delete poses form huddles?
[10:33]  Laylah Lecker: yes you can :)
[10:34]  Laylah Lecker: you right click on the pose you want to delete in the contents tab
[10:34]  Laylah Lecker: like when you go to edit you go to contents tab
[10:34]  Laylah Lecker: then find the pose you want to delete right click and choose delete

*******************************
[10:36]  Laylah Lecker: ok next part of class :)
[10:37]  Laylah Lecker: ➤ Bring them to Styling Stage and Teach them the styling formation on stage.
[10:37]  Laylah Lecker: Let’s go over to the styling stage. It’s an exact replica of the actual stage so you will learn the formation here.
[10:37]  Bella Qissentell: yay
[10:37]  Laylah Lecker: its the same stage you were on for the evaluations
[10:38]  Laylah Lecker: Styling events are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 5:00 pm/slt and Thursdays at12 pm/slt.
[10:39]  Laylah Lecker: Styling events are the best practice you can get here. I highly recommend you come to as many as you can. There are cash prizes for the top three winners
[10:39]  Laylah Lecker:
1st Place: 500L
2nd Place: 300L
3rd Place: 200L
[10:39]  Laylah Lecker: So the possible lindens are good, but the best incentive is that you will learn how to gain confidence on the runway, unleash your creativity, and write stunning outfit descriptions.
[10:39]  Laylah Lecker: I will repeat over and over again that styling events are the best way to get hands on experience in runway modeling.
[10:40]  Laylah Lecker: but thru out this semester we will show you ways to work with lag
[10:40]  Laylah Lecker: lag will always be here
[10:40]  Laylah Lecker: but you can learn to adapt to it
[10:40]  Laylah Lecker: and work with it
[10:40]  Laylah Lecker: its the meanest friend you will ever have lol
[10:41]  Laylah Lecker:
Poses on Stage Score-----1-10
Catwalk on Stage----------1-10
Formation on stage--------1-10
Outfit Creativity-----------1-20
Description of the outfit--1-10
[10:41]  Laylah Lecker: I"ll go ahead and show you the formation first
[10:42]  ... Laylah Lecker announces:

[10:47]  Laylah Lecker: We can are you all familiar with creating a new notecard?
[10:48]  Laylah Lecker: k :) now what you will do is create a new notecard that has your description on it
[10:48]  Laylah Lecker: that way you can just copy its content and paste it in the local chat
[10:48]  Bella Qissentell: what does the description has to look like
[10:49]  Laylah Lecker: yes the best way I think of it is like this think of the 5 W who what where when and why
[10:49]  Laylah Lecker: you want to introduce yourself to the judges
[10:50]  Laylah Lecker: you want to say what you thought about when creating your outfit
[10:50]  Laylah Lecker: where you got your outfit and all components of your styling such as skin hair etc
[10:51]  Laylah Lecker: when is when you can introduce a little background
[10:51]  Laylah Lecker: some to history of the theme
[10:51]  Laylah Lecker: do*
[10:52]  Laylah Lecker: and why is like why you chose your particular combination

First Day of Classes Notes:Intro, Inspection, Modification

*******INTRODUCTION********
[16:04]  Anrol Anthony: Anyway let me introduce myself
For those of you who dont know me , My name is Anrol Anthony and I am your Dean here and a CEO for University of Classic W/ Style Modeling and Fashion and meet my partner here too Steve101 McCullough
[16:05]  Anrol Anthony: You may ask my friendship, and all my staffs here, In case you needed to get a hold with one of us.
[16:05]  Anrol Anthony: Also I am the one who will do the final grading here, You will learn all great techniques from our fabulous trainers here at UCWS.
[16:05]  Anrol Anthony: Before I Introduce our Executive Trainers here , let me tell you first about our company to begin with. I will do the introduction about our company
[16:06]  Anrol Anthony: Classic W/ Style started on May 2008. We started one photo contest named Ms Beautiful and for some reason we became so popular right away.
[16:06]  Anrol Anthony: I brought my experienced from rl in modeling into sl, the ideas, formation and how to deal with all designers in sl
[16:06]  Anrol Anthony: When I started modeling in SL, there was barely a reliable modeling HUD, and lots of runway walks needed to be done manually. There were few helpful tools for models, only a couple agencies and academies, and everybody was still figuring out how to make everything work. We had no choice but to experiment while developing our skills, and reputations, with never-ending practice, promotion, and personality. I was honored to try to advance the fashion industry.
[16:07]  Anrol Anthony: I have been experimenting doing different kind of poses and runway walks on our stage.
[16:07]  Anrol Anthony: I practice and practice almost everyday to learn all techniques in modeling.
[16:08]  Anrol Anthony: Steve and I love doing this in Second Life we want to help people experience the joy of modeling, who in RL, would never have that chance, we hope we accomplished that. That said, we are most grateful for the friends we made along the way
[16:08]  Anrol Anthony: To you students here, we hope that you will achieve your goal, freely help one another and we say ...... walk ....walk and rock the runway...
[16:08]  Anrol Anthony: Okay, in RL, I'm a fashion model and have been since I was 21. I was doing a volunteer work for redcross and coordinating a show and some real fashion models are doing their practiced and when they were finished practicing,
[16:09]  Anrol Anthony: I walk on the runway mocking the models the way they walk and and here you go I got discover on that day by one of the top modeling agency from Hollywood California shortly thereafter was totally immersed in the world of fashion. I've shot and walked for designers whose names you would recognize if you follow fashion.
class of March 2011
[16:09]  Anrol Anthony: In SL, you're forced to use the walks and poses that are available, but you're not forced to have the confidence and personality. You can't show the confidence in your walk in SL, but you can in what you say, how you act...how you treat people. You should never be cocky or arrogant, but be confident.
[16:10]  Anrol Anthony: Before I became a good model in rl I have had criticism from experienced models, but you know what, that helped me a lot to be a better model in rl.
[16:10]  Anrol Anthony: So what am I saying is that the learning curve to becoming a TOP model is a tough one but also a worthy one. The only way you will ever rise above the others is to observe, practice and be creative.
[16:11]  Anrol Anthony: If we do offend you, I use offend not criticise, because we dont really want to criticise anybody here, we will try to say or use the right word for it but remember it is not to offend you, We really don´t mean harm, we just want all of you to get to the top!
[16:11]  Anrol Anthony: All of you have invested money and time, and the least we can give you is an honest opinion, and sometimes that involves a severe reality change.
[16:12]  Anrol Anthony: Ok I expect one of my models to be like this.. Listen up
* Personality - great to be around, friendly, kind.
* Work Ethic - hard working, professional, reliable, dependable.
* Confidence - not cocky or arrogant, but sure of your abilities.
* Presentation - GREAT, unique features and GREAT unique styling
* Skills - mastery of catwalk/shoots - use different, unusual walks/poses
[16:12]  Anrol Anthony: and this last part is very important
[16:13]  Anrol Anthony: NEVER GIVE UP AND DO NOT BE A QUITER!
When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.
[16:13]  Anrol Anthony: For some of you, who will start here and seing the runway, you will be saying to yourself.. I am not able to do what they are doing. You could asked my executive trainers here, they will tell you exactly that they started here just like you.
[16:14]  Anrol Anthony: We will make sure to help build up your confidence on stage. We will work together with you
[16:14]  Anrol Anthony: There is really no trick for this... The Best way to build your Confidence is to practice , practice, practice..
[16:14]  Anrol Anthony: The more often you partcipate in the nightly events the more you will learn, the better you will be bocome and the more confident you will become..
[16:15]  Anrol Anthony: Before the day is over I want each one of you to make sure to join our contest here, so you will be able to participate in our free Styling event which we give away 1000 L 5 days a week to our 3 winners.
[16:15]  Anrol Anthony: Joining this contest is not about winning, we created this event for our students and our contestants to get practice and build their confidence on stage.
[16:15]  Anrol Anthony: I want you to remember this
being gorgeous in sl mean nothing.
They mean nothing, because beauty is easy in SL.
"Beauty of a soul is not measured by outer appearance,
but the capacity to love and give to others.
The true measure of beauty is humanity"
[16:16]  Anrol Anthony: Anybody with some money, time, and determination can become beautiful. Gorgeous aspiring models are a dime a dozen. So how do you know if you're a candidate for becoming a fashion model? Let me suggest a quick checklist followed by further explanation.
[16:16]  Anrol Anthony: If you don't have an insatiable appetite for amazing fashion, don't enter modeling.
[16:16]  Anrol Anthony: If you don't have the willingness to accept constructive criticism, don't enter modeling.
[16:17]  Anrol Anthony: If you don't have the ability to continue trying after being rejected…many times, don't enter modeling.
[16:17]  Anrol Anthony: If you don't have an unending ethic of hard work, don't enter modeling.
[16:17]  Anrol Anthony: If you do have the single purpose of achieving fame, don't enter modeling.
[16:17]  Anrol Anthony: *****If you do have the single purpose of making a lot of money, don't enter modeling.
[16:17]  Anrol Anthony: If I haven't scared you off yet, then let me explain why I've said the things I have in that little checklist.
[16:18]  Anrol Anthony: Professionals don't become caught up with arrogant, mean, rude, selfish, drama queen types.
[16:18]  Anrol Anthony: Professionals don't give their energy to drama queens. They give their energy to being a professional.
[16:18]  Anrol Anthony: They spend energy on being confident and having the personality that makes people want to work with them…you do the same.
[16:18]  Anrol Anthony: Stay focused. Be a pro. Be a true model, not just a walking clothes hanger, but a "model" woman/man--one that every one aspires to be. The world will come to you.
[16:19]  Anrol Anthony: Next I need you to pay attention, I will see who is awake or aft atm
[16:19]  Anrol Anthony announces: Next I need you to pay attention, I will see who is awake or aft atm
[16:19]  Anrol Anthony: Ok I will give some tips on making easy note.. When your in the class and you are trying to remember some key notes or easy one so it will be an easy access for you..
This is what you should do

[16:34]  Anrol Anthony: as a model try to wear less than 3000 ARC during ur daily activities
[16:34]  Anrol Anthony announces: ok lets go on
[16:35]  Anrol Anthony: First question you would want to know first in modeling.
Can you make money in modeling?
The answer is - Yes and No
[16:35]  Anrol Anthony: I don't recommend that you join the ranks of SL models just for the money.
Modeling takes a huge huge investment in skins, hair, poses, huds etc and most of all time.
[16:35]  Anrol Anthony: Well, why modeling? I can tell you from personal experience
that it is fun, challenging, nerve wracking, very costly meaning could be very expensive and competitive.
[16:36]  Anrol Anthony: "Yes" expensive, to be a great model in sl. You will need the following tools
1. Good Computer
2. Good Internet connection
3. Good Graphics
4. more lindens for poses and walks
5. and most important is your time to Practice, practice and practice all the time
[16:36]  Anrol Anthony: If you all have these 5 I have mentioned.. You will a great awesome models
[16:36]  Anrol Anthony: Here at Classic W/ Style we will make sure to help you achieve your goal,
[16:37]  Anrol Anthony: CWS is the number #1 place to go if you want to get well known is sl.
[16:37]  Anrol Anthony: We do expose you here for sure in our fashion world. CWS have all the tool you needed when it comes to be famous in modeling,

[16:38]  Anrol Anthony: and some of you are really serious on being a model in sl

and guess what?
[16:38]  Anrol Anthony: What we could promise you , we will give the best training here and you will transfer to a very good and knowledgeable Model in sl.
[16:39]  Anrol Anthony: We will build up your confidence to be great on the runway
[16:39]  Anrol Anthony: It reminds me one of the student we have here , her mission to begin with
is to learn our techniques and open her own modeling agency
[16:39]  Anrol Anthony: Yes she did open her own agency and lasted 3 months, then she came back
here and told me
[16:40]  Anrol Anthony: i realized i went into competition with the best???? no way! To do that again
in America, we say....."if you can't beat them, join them" So she came back here
 and modeling again here.
[16:40]  Anrol Anthony: Also the last thing I would like to remind you. Please learn to communicate with us. Meaning do not assume all the time
[16:40]  Anrol Anthony: Several times I will be sending a note and some ppl will just read the title and will not read the whole note
[16:40]  Anrol Anthony: guess what? the important date was listed there and some models will be missing the practice and the show, because they assume the time is always the same.

*****BODY/SKIN INSPECTION*****
[16:48]  Anrol Anthony: Ok next we will do our skin and shape evaluation but before we do that I would like to say something about it
[16:49]  Anrol Anthony: ++Unicity is very important in modelling , to find your identity which is unique and not a clone of some other model you can see around you have to concentrate on your look and so on your shape , your skin , hair and eyes .
[16:49]  Anrol Anthony: All must be perfect an mainly natural , choose classy simple hair with natural colour , eyes must be natural too , try to have one or more good quality skins for a start .
[16:49]  Anrol Anthony: A tip , don't choose one only because you saw it on someone , avoid too mainstream ones. I will give you some good landmark after but you dont have to take there , your skin are you , and even if you will change it to adapt to runway esigences you will always have one skin which is your presentation card ..the one which distinguish you .
[16:50]  Anrol Anthony: An amateur model can be a nice doll , a top model shines for her unique allure, she doesnt walk she govern the runway , and you can do it only working on your look and even when out in shops or parties or social events you must be noticed for your charme good taste and perfection of editing accessories ..find, search your way try .. go back and try again until you find your style .
[16:51]  Anrol Anthony: All must be an harmonious whole aimed to distinguish you in the crowd , but the main thing, the first thing you have to care about is your shape .
++And about that we will talk now .
[16:51]  Anrol Anthony: Your shape can make your avatar special and unique, no matter what skin you wear , so a lot of care must be put in making or chosing it .
[16:51]  Anrol Anthony: There are many model shapes , but even if you buy one and don't make it by yourself it is a must that it must be modifiable .
[16:52]  Anrol Anthony: Not only because every skin that you can choose will need for sure some adjustment but mainly because you must be ready to change your shape on request of some agencies , designers or photographers you work with .
[16:52]  Anrol Anthony: in this lesson we will leave aside the face of your shape because that is really too personal and it depends on the skin you have or you will choose. But we teacher are always here and ready to advice you and judge and correct the result of your efforts in building your features .
[16:53]  Anrol Anthony: We instead we will focus on body
[16:53]  Anrol Anthony: A model must be tall and thin , with some curves but thin , no matter if your female ideal implies to be a small doll , a runway model must be tall .
[16:53]  Anrol Anthony: That because you must present on catwalk every kind of dress and only a tall , well built shape will allow you to present with the same grace and elegance a gown of floating lines and a pair of leather trousers , shorts or mini skirts , bikini lingeries or a gothic outfit
[16:54]  Anrol Anthony announces: ok everyone please get ready
