About Me

My photo
Shy, quiet and mostly kept to herself, clysa Dragoone aka Cly is a sweetheart until she is crossed. Rezzed on August 1, 2010, she came into Second Life only to dance, have fun and make new friends. Working as Head Dancer and Host at the Velvet Manor Night Club, she never thought about modeling till now as her sweet little neko friend, Nickle Sparrowtree, got her active. Also, with the help of Anrol Anthony and Steve McCullough, she entered the UCWS to study modeling for the Class of March 2011. Cly now strives to make it through even through the hardest of challenges within the world of modeling. At present is running in three latest contests, "Ms Elegance", "Ms Sophistication" and "SL Too Sexy". Plus, she participated in three fashion videos to date. She also, looks up to those before her, and seeks advise from the top models, such as DebbieDoo Tigerfish and Laylah Lecker, whom she considered as her role-models and good friends. In the end, her passion will still be in dance, but is thrilled to be given this chance to open up and prove herself, making herself someone in the SL world with the help and thanks to all at CWS.

I'd like to see a little more "why" you chose your outfit to pad up your description but otherwise well done! I know you were short on time but wild hair and accessories really would have bumped up your creative score...awesome! :D

Last Day of Class

Today was the last and final day of class. Granted we have an all day review tomorrow for our finals and I think i will try to attend them when I can.
Anyways, today was just inventory review and learning graduation formation.
*************************
➤Overview: Inventory Control, ARC and teach them the camera control today's class
➤Show them the graduation formation today. (ask me the formation if you don't have a copy of it)

Inventory Control
In order to keep inventory organized, I think filters are very helpful. After a day of shopping always make sure to organize everything into their respective places. It makes the maintenance so much easier
Let's review how to apply filters, how to search, create folders and subfolders and how to classify them. For Phoenix on the top of your inventory you will find 3 choices FILE/ CREATE/ SORT, and for V2 its the same just on the bottom of the inventory box.
 FILE:
If you click on it you will see sub commands:
- OPEN (opens the file that you have highlighted)
[NEW WINDOW (it duplicates the inventory window so you may have several windows open at once)
SHOW FILTERS (this allows you to check or uncheck the different items in your inventory for easier search)
 RESET FILTERS (resets the filters)
 SORT:
it allows you to sort items:
 BY NAME (alphabetical order)
BY DATE (on top the most recent) It is best to sort your folders always by name.
And then click an X on Folders Always by Name, and also System Folders to Top.
 CREATE:
This command is used to create new items in our inventory.
Here the filters are very useful because if we are looking for hair we bought a while ago and we remember only a part of name like "up do" but not the brand or the name, you can type in the search bar "up do" and it will search your inventory for anything that has up do in it.
If you want to narrow it down even more, in the FILTERS function you can uncheck all but objects so neither landmarks , note cards etc. will show up and your search will be easier.
FOLDERS AND SUB-FOLDERS
The rule is...there is no rule!!! That is because everyone has a personal method.
Some may like to put all their clothes in the clothing folder and others have a very detailed system of subfolders.
Opening up an additional window helps with the sub folders as well
its much easier to drag items over rather than fighting with one inventory window and trying to find the sub folder you created
or plain old new folder :)
Because this is just a review, I'll move on to next review. Are there any questions regarding inventory organization first?
Avatar Rendering Cost
1.Turn on your Advanced menu. If you don't have it up press control alt D
2.Enable Advanced > Rendering > Info Displays > Avatar Rendering Cost.
ARC scores are color coded. I like to think of them like traffic lights.
Green = safe you are good to go!
Yellow/Orange = you better slow down on your prim usage ;)
Red = STOP your avi is already HOT!
On the other hand, if you are going to an event, it's generally best to be considerate of others when putting together your avatar, and to do what you can to stay under a score of 2,000, especially in crowded areas. Under 1,000 is even better.
These are only guidelines, but be aware that the higher your score is, the more lag you generate for other Second Lifers, particularly those with older machines.
There are ways to keep your ARC as low as you can make it, but it's worth your time and effort because it helps you play a better game.
1.Start by bringing the ARC up: Advanced Menu > Rendering > Info Displays > Avatar Rendering Cost
2.Make a note of all the attachments you wear on your regular avatar.
3.Detach everything. (Right click on yourself, select Detach, then select Detach All.)
4.Gradually attach each item, making a note of which items increase your ARC most.
Some hairstyles, for instance, have more than one style within the same object, with the second style being invisible
You can reduce the ARC of that hair just by making a version without the second style - and look exactly the same.
5.Otherwise, you can look for low ARC objects that have a similar look to the high ARC version. If possible, try demos to figure out the ARC of an object before purchase.
And for shows nothing beats a classic pair of pumps.
Those have the least ARC as compared to the scultped shoes with prim feet.
Yes they look nicer! But if it is a choice between you walking smoothly as opposed to freezing then crashing because of the lag...well I would rather walk smoothly and save my ARC for the design I"m supposed to be selling but save the nice prim feet shoes for when your legs and feet are actually showing :)
Cam Controls
Ok first let's make sure our camera is set up so we can see ourselves properly for the runway. We want to be able to see our feet, so we don't miss our dots.
If you notice that you only see your back or butt as you walk, and not your feet, you'll have to change the settings in your preferences.
 To change your camera view:
1) Go to Preferences> Input & Camera> Camera Options> Camera View Angle (slide to half way)> Camera Follow Distance (slide to halfway)
2) Lastly put check on Automatic Apperance Camera Movement> click Apply> then OK
There are two ways in which we use our camera: camera controls or our keyboard arrows.
(laylah note:) I prefer using my keyboard arrows, but I suggest you use what feels the most comfortable to you
In case you cant find your camera controls, On top of your screen you will see "File/ Edit/ View/ World etc.." Click on View (drop down) you will see Camera Controls click it then it will appear on your screen.
Click on View (drop down) you will see Camera Controls click it then it will appear on your screen.
 Review:
1) The left blue circle controls when you need to turn around your camera view (like to face yourself).
2) The right blue circle controls is when you need to move your views side to side and up and down.
3) The middle bar is for zooming.
 + zooms in
 - zooms out
You can also use this method of holding various keys
Alt and clicking something focuses it to the center of the screen.
Alt and dragging the mouse zooms the camera.
Alt-Ctrl and dragging orbits the camera.
Alt-Ctrl-Shift and dragging pans the camera.
 To get extremely close:
clrt and zero will zoom in closer
crlt and 9 will reset your camera
crlt and 8 will zoom out
****How to do a smooth model turn on stage using camera controls:
 1) Use the left blue circle control to turn around facing the camera so it shows your front.
2) Next click on your avatar.
You will turn on the other side. You can also do this for half-turns as well. Where ever you turn your camera, when you click on your Avi or tap the esc button, you will turn that direction. For those of you on V2, tap the arrow key.
***How to do a smooth model turn using keyboard arrows:
1) Hold the "alt" key on your keyboard for PC's and use either the right or left arrow to turn the camera so it is facing yourself.
 2) Next click on your avatar or tap the esc button. Again V2, tap the arrow key.
To get better control of my cam turns I render my axes. It is a thin white line that runs through the middle of my avi's body. Don't worry it's invisible to others, and is just visible to you.
Again in Phoenix go to Advanced->Rendering->Axes and in V2 I believe its in the develop menu
When you want to make a smooth exit, instead of hitting escape or tapping your avi, simply cam around until you see your face, alt click right above your head then simply walk. This will make a quick 180 degree turn that looks fluid on your exit.
Graduation formation:
1st Stop----Stop on the 2nd white dot and do 3 poses
2nd Stop----Stop on the right hand side front greenie gold dot and do 3 poses
3rd Stop--Stop middle greenie gold round dot and do 3 poses
4th Stop---Stop on the left hand side greenie gold dot ( next to the middle dot) then Anrol will tell you where to position yourself
